Underground Utilities Foreman    

 Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays.

When directed by supervisor, this position will supervise  employees assigned to  your construction  site crew. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision. Manage labor and equipment in order to safely and profitably complete the job to the customer’s satisfaction while utilizing your knowledge, experience and leadership skills to create a customer focused culture that positively motivates your crew to use their skills, talents and abilities to produce superior quality work in everything that they do.

Reports To

Supervises

Any members working to perform tasks within your supervision.

Planning/Scheduling

Maintain a 1-2 week schedule with while being flexible when issues out of your control arise.

Key Areas and Accountabilities

Safety

• Each foreman will ensure that Ameron’s safety procedures are always followed

• Conduct daily Job Hazard Analysis 

• Conduct weekly safety toolbox talks

• Follow Ameron’s safety procedures for accidents and incidents

Production

• Ensure a safe work environment.

• Conduct pre-construction meeting with at least one week of the following Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Site Foreman and or Client before every job.

• Make customer satisfaction your top priority with the scope of work.

• Complete the job within the scope of work. Do not proceed with any changes of the scope, quantities, or number of mobilizations unless approved by Project Superintendent, Operations Manager and/or Project Manager.

• Set up, calculate material quantities, and execute the job to specifications and cost budgets.

• Plan work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, trucking and equipment requirements, and traffic control needs.

• Report locations, job numbers, man-hours, equipment usage and major material use on daily logs and daily timecards.

• Ensure that supervised members daily timecards are completed daily and accurate.

• Follow construction standards and procedures.

• Maintain Ameron’s equipment including daily maintenance.

• It is the foreman’s responsibility to stay on the job with the crew while the work is being done to

ensure the job is carried out to the scope of work.  If other duties are necessary, the foreman will put a competent member in charge of that job’s responsibilities.

• Supervise crew to ensure that the proper amount of manpower matches the scope of the job and work with the Operations Manager and to move crew members efficiently and appropriately.

• Verify that all utilities have been located.

• Coordinate equipment needs and manpower with Site Superintendent and Operations Manager.

• Maintain positive relationship with other departments, as required, to support construction schedule

• Skilled in interpreting plans and blueprints to ensure precise and compliant field execution

Reporting

• Prepare accurate daily logs and timecards daily!

• Turn in all receipts and delivery tickets with time sheets and copies of all work orders and paving charts on weekly basis.

• Communicate equipment failures immediately to Operations Manager and Shop Manager

• Complete accident and incident reports

• Advise superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.; assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.

Quality 

• Always complete quality control review at the end of the day 

• Make sure job matches the scope of work.

Human Relations

• Treat each crew member with dignity and respect.

• Direct and redirect crew members as needed to improve performance.

Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate for this role will ensure safety and excellence in all that we do.
• Report to the Operations Manager and Foreman

Understanding and ability to perform the following:

• Excavate for utility installation
• Fine grade for black-top, concrete, etc.
• Able to place stone/dirt efficiently
• Check grade
• Read/Off-set grade stakes
• Understanding of compaction
• Be punctual.
• Operate I-Dozer, Excavator, Front end loader (Cat 963) and other equipment (with experience) for successful completion of job.

Skills & Qualifications

• 5-6 years experience overall experience in residential and commercial construction
• Ability to fine grade preferred

• Ability to work 40 – 60 hours a week including weekends as needed.

Truck Driver Position

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate for this role will ensure safety excellence in all that we do.
• Report to the Operations Manager and Foreman
• Understanding and ability to perform the following: 
• Drive Class A,  B vehicles
• Drive Triaxle dump truck
• Understanding of construction production
• Be punctual.

Skills & Qualifications

• 2-5 years CDL experience overall.
• Strong work ethic to take direction and work independently with a desire to succeed.
• Ability to work 40 – 50 hours a week including infrequent weekends as needed.
• Skilled in running all types construction equipment is a plus.
• Clean Driver History. Class A CDL.

Concrete Finisher Responsibilities:

• Setting forms that hold the concrete in place.

• Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues.

• Directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.

• Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed. This includes handheld tools and power tool versions.

• Monitoring the effects of the weather on the curing process.

• Applying sealing and hardening components.

• Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is consolidated.

• Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.

• Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.

• Ability to read grade stakes and make calculations to set forms at proper grade and slope.

Concrete Finisher Requirements:

• High school diploma or Equivalent.

• Minimum 2 years work experience as a concrete laborer or mason.

• Ability to stand for long periods.

• Ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours.

• Ability to kneel for long periods.

• Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.

• Knowledge of GPS and Slip Form curb machines is not manditory, but is highly regarded

Concrete Laborer Responsibilities:

• Setting forms that hold the concrete in place.

Ameron Construction Company is seeking experienced shop mechanic who can inspect, diagnose, adjust, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and transportation vehicles including cars; light, medium and heavy trucks; paving and earthmoving equipment. Education:

* Prefer completion of Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technology program from an accredited vocational or technical school.

Experience: 

* Prefer ten years of experience as a heavy equipment or truck technician.

* PA Inspection license a plus.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to obtain and maintain a current Medical Examiner's Certificate as stated in 49 CFR 391.43(h)

* Ability to work with fuel and other petroleum products.

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

* Ability to climb on and off equipment safely.

* Ability to work in shop or field environment with exposure to dust, welding fumes, exhaust fumes, noise, confined spaces and inclement weather conditions.

* Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

* Ability to bend, kneel, or squat to reach repair areas.

The position will report to the supervisor and will be responsible for a variety of duties in and around job site of construction projects. Main Responsibilities

Complete tasks as directed by supervisor in a timely manner

Observe distribution of paving material along Screed and control to eliminate voids at curbs and joints

Keep Screed accurately adjusted and maintain material quality

Setup Paver, Screed, and Rollers

Match all paver joints and maintain consistency

Perform several tasks involving strenuous manual labor on roads, highways, and residential and commercial construction projects; perform manual work in preparing surfaces for paving

Assist in patching asphalt

Ability to drive and operate equipment under varying working conditions
